Beginners Learn to Play (Level 1.0)

Once a week at Marsha Park  Wednesdays at 5 pm  (starts September 4)

Designed for beginner tennis players who want to be introduced to the game and develop foundational skills.

The course will be based on the Tennis Canada “Learn to Play” program which makes the game easier to play, more fun and will set you up for early success!

This level is equivalent to the 1.0 level on the Tennis Canada self-rating guide.

Beginner Plus (Level 1.5)

Designed for players who have been introduced to tennis but want to develop more consistency in their game.

The program will focus on building consistency in the forehand and backhand strokes, will introduce the volley and will continue an introduction to serving.

This clinic is recommended for players who have successfully completed the Beginner Learn to Play Clinic or who have minimal playing experience but cannot play games because of a lack of consistency in their forehand and backhand groundstrokes.

This level is equivalent to the 1.5 level on the Tennis Canada self-rating guide.

Novice (Level 2.0-2.5)

  1. Once a week at Marsha Park - Wednesday at 6 pm  (starts September 4)

Designed for players who want to play singles or doubles recreationally and want to be able to maintain a consistent rally when practicing with their friends.

The program will continue to work on consistent groundstrokes especially when the player must move forward, backward, or to the side to hit the ball. Volleying and serving skills will also be a focus, and players will have a chance to play in real-game situations.

This clinic is recommended for players who have successfully completed the Beginner Plus Clinic or who have some recreational tennis experience, and can maintain a rally, but lack the consistency to maintain a 10-ball rally on both the forehand and backhand.
